“Heart at Low Tide II” was the first project we worked on with Becky Nettl-Fiol, who expressed interest in working with us. This piece was the beginning of many collaborations with her. This piece was a very exciting project as it was our first opportunity to study modern dance and have a chance to perform it. While some sections were based on ballroom, and that’s where we could contribute most, some parts couldn’t be further from it. It was extremely valuable to dance in this new context. Thanks to this project we also were introduced to Laura Chiaramonte whom we have also been collaborating with ever since. “Heart at Low Tide II” inspired us to begin creating our own choreography outside of the ballroom realm. As a result, it was a very important turning point in our career.
This piece was also performed at American Dance Guild Festival in NYC in September 2012.
